With a 37-155mm 4.2 x zoom f/4.8-11.7 lens and measuring 112 x 59.5 x 48.3 mm, the Prima Super 155 is the smallest camera in its class. The small size is made possible by a newly built in AE/AF sensor as Canon, for the first time ever uses a C-MOS sensor in a combined AE/AF unit. This new system, designed by Canon, makes the camera smaller and lighter and provides better automatic exposure.
The Prima Super 155 also incorporates a passive three-point switching type Artificial intelligence Automatic Focusing (AiAF) system, which allows the user to clearly view and sharply focus on the subject in a wide variety of conditions. Focusing and metering are linked to the zoom, making it possible to keep virtually the same focal range for both wide-angle and telephoto shooting. The high class look and feel of the Prima Super 155 is further emphasised by the robust yet elegant metal casing with a cool green grip on the front.
For simple operation and high performance exposure in different situations, a large ‘Best Shot’ dial is centralised on the back of the camera. With highly visible mode indications, this convenient feature enables users to easily select their mode of choice with just the turn of a dial. With the built in PERSONAL mode the user can set up his or her own preferences using the camera in the exact way that they want. Manual exposure compensation of +/- 1.5 EV is also possible.
Further enhancing the ease-of-operation, the Prima Super 155 also features a larger and extremely easy-to-view LCD panel with clear and simple displays. In addition, the overall logical and straightforward operability of the camera can be intuitively understood by the user, providing stress-free and enjoyable handling. The camera is also provided with a dioptric adjustment knob at the viewfinder, increasing the usability of the camera for users wearing glasses.
Noticeably smaller than all competitors in it’s range and weighing only 220g (excl. batteries), the Prima Super 155 is compact and easy to carry.
