Prima AS-1 Date
Prima AS-1

Great outdoors camera for active photographers

Some of the best picture opportunities occur in places where you would not risk carrying an ordinary camera. But the Canon Prima AS-1 Date is no ordinary camera. It can be used on a beach, in snow, in rain, and even underwater. Safe to use underwater at depths to 5 metres (and will float to the surface if you let go). Above water, go anywhere, without taking any special precautions. If it becomes muddy or dusty, simply rinse it in a bucket of tap water.

Built into one of the smallest and lightest 35mm underwater cameras is a large viewfinder with a high eye-point. This makes it easy to view and compose the image even when wearing sunglasses, ski goggles or a diving mask. Above water, the Prima AS-1 Date uses AI-AF 3-point active autofocusing. The 32mm f/3.5 lens focuses from 0.45 metre to infinity.

Underwater, the camera switches automatically to fixed focusing, two fixed focus settings are available. Built-in flash allows the Prima AS-1 Date to be used at any time of the day or night. It can be set to fire automatically whenever the conditions are too dark for daylight photography. A small mini-lamp will illuminate the subject for approximately a second before exposure to reduce the risk of Ored-eyeO effects. The Prima AS-1 Date can print the current date or time on your photographs.
